Job description

We are seeking a Business Analyst specializing in SQL and Transaction Monitoring to analyze transactional data, detect anomalies, and optimize compliance/fraud monitoring rules. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical data engineering and business/compliance teams to mitigate risk and streamline monitoring processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • SQL Data Analysis: Write advanced SQL queries to extract, clean, and analyze high-volume transaction data across multi-table databases.
  • Rule Tuning & Optimization: Evaluate, refine, and optimize transaction monitoring rules to minimize false positives while maximizing detection efficiency.
  • Requirements & Workflow Mapping: Collaborate with compliance and product teams to translate business/regulatory needs into functional technical specifications.
  • Investigations & Insights: Perform ad-hoc deep dives into flagged transactions to identify emerging patterns, fraud vectors, or system anomalies.
OR
  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst in Financial Crime, AML, or Transaction Monitoring.
  • Good understanding of banking and financial services processes.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data analysis.
  • Experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of AML regulations, KYC, fraud detection, and suspicious transaction reporting.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and UAT.
