Role Overview

MPS is looking for two Cloud Engineers to extend its Infrastructure team across core operations and cloud. The roles cover Windows Server operations (with a VMware background useful) and Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 as core skill sets, including Azure IaaS, Entra ID and the hybrid Active Directory estate.

The engineers will support BAU and projects across Dynamics, Exchange, DNS and general infrastructure services. Data engineering is run by the MPS data team and is out of scope for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Core Operations

• Administer and support Windows Server estates on VMware and Azure: build, patching, configuration and health.
• Complete start-of-day production checks, monitoring and alert review.

Azure & Identity

• Manage Azure infrastructure (IaaS): virtual machines, networking, storage, backup and monitoring.
• Administer Entra ID and the hybrid Active Directory estate, including sync, access and identity lifecycle.
• Apply security and least-privilege standards across cloud and on-premises.

Microsoft 365 & Platform Services

• Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange.
• Support infrastructure for Dynamics, DNS and general platform services.
• Support the small GCP footprint (website marketing, big data analytics) where required.

Service Management, Automation & Documentation

• Handle incidents and service requests via ITSM and ADO; own incidents through RCA.
• Raise and implement changes through CAB.
• Automate repetitive tasks and infrastructure provisioning (e.g. PowerShell, Terraform, ADO pipelines).
• Maintain documentation and runbooks in Confluence.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong Windows Server administration experience.
• Hands-on Microsoft Azure IaaS experience.
• Entra ID and hybrid Active Directory experience.
• Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange.
• DNS and general infrastructure services.
• Experience with ITSM processes (incident, request, change including CAB) and ADO boards.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Desirable Skills

• VMware experience.
• Terraform and DevOps (ADO pipelines) experience.
• Dynamics infrastructure support.
• GCP exposure (nice to have).
• Certifications such as AZ-104, MS-102, AZ-400.
