About the company: We are a biofuel manufacturing company with its plant at Sipajhar, Darrang district, Assam.
Role purpose: To own and lead the complete IT function of the plant and offices. The role plans, implements, manages and maintains all IT systems so that operations run without disruption: ERP / SAP, network, hardware, security and plant IT systems.
Key responsibilities
IT strategy and planning:
- IT plan and annual budget.
- Evaluate new systems, hardware and software.
- IT policies, SOPs and user-access rules.
ERP / business applications:
- Lead implementation, rollout and support of the ERP (SAP or equivalent) across finance, purchase, stores, production, sales, dispatch and HR / payroll.
- Master data, user roles, and work with the ERP partner.
- Also manage Tally, HRMS / payroll, attendance and email.
Infrastructure and network:
- LAN / WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, switches, routers and internet links.
- Servers, storage, backup and disaster recovery.
- Desktops, laptops, printers, UPS and the IT asset register.
Plant IT systems:
- Weighbridge software, CCTV, biometric attendance and access control, gate entry, lab software and communication systems.
- Network support for DCS / PLC / SCADA, working with the instrumentation team.
- Cyber security and data: antivirus, firewall rules, patching, password policies, tested backups and IT audits.
- Vendors and AMC: IT vendors, licences, AMCs and the ERP partner; IT purchases within budget.
- Team and support: lead the IT team, run the IT helpdesk and train users.
Success measures
- High uptime of ERP, network and plant systems.
- ERP running across all departments.
- No data loss or security incidents.
- User issues resolved on time.
- IT spend within budget.
- Audit points closed.
Must-have
- 8–10 yrs in IT, including 3–4 yrs leading IT or an IT team.
- Hands-on implementation and maintenance of ERP, network, servers, hardware, security and backups.
- Manufacturing / process plant experience.
- Strong in networking, Windows / Linux servers, Active Directory, email and backups.
- Experience managing IT vendors, AMCs and licences.
- Willing to be based at Sipajhar.
Good-to-have
- SAP knowledge (added advantage).
- Weighbridge, CCTV and plant network systems.
- Ethanol, distillery, sugar, chemical or power plant experience.
- CCNA, Microsoft, ITIL or security certifications.
- North-East experience.
Education: B.E. / B.Tech (CS / IT / Electronics), MCA, or B.Sc. IT / BCA with relevant experience.
