Product Lead, Accounting Platform

About the role

We are looking for a Product Lead to lead Rippling’s Accounting Platform.

You will own the accountant experience across Rippling’s Finance and Payroll products. Your mandate spans two important problems. First, you will own the accounting infrastructure and ERP integrations required for Rippling to serve larger and more complex customers. Second, you will define the future of the accounting product at Rippling by building AI-powered workflows that automate the close process.

Rippling sits in a unique position between the systems where business activity originates and the ERP where the official books live. This gives us the context to automate work that accountants perform manually today, from validating transactions before they reach the GL to reconciliation and period-end adjustments.

Over time, the opportunity is to expand this platform beyond supporting Rippling’s existing products and build a complete accounting close experience that can become a product in its own right.

What you will do

• Own the product vision and roadmap for Rippling’s Accounting Platform.
• Build a world-class accounting experience across Finance and Payroll.
• Develop AI-powered accounting workflows that help customers keep their books complete and current.
• Automate core close processes such as transaction validation, reconciliation, and period-end adjustments.
• Build the platform capabilities needed to support complex ERP environments and larger customers.
• Improve the reliability and scalability of the systems that move financial data from Rippling into customers’ general ledgers.
• Work closely with Finance, Payroll, Procurement, and Data teams to build shared accounting capabilities.
• Spend significant time with controllers and accounting teams to understand how they work and where Rippling can eliminate manual effort.
• Partner closely with Engineering and Design from product discovery through launch.
• Define clear measures of customer and business impact, then use them to prioritize the roadmap.
  
  

What you will need

• 8+ years of product management experience, ideally working on complex B2B software.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into a clear strategy.
• Experience building technically complex products that depend on integrations, data models, or platform infrastructure.
• A strong understanding of accounting workflows and the financial systems businesses use to run them.
• The ability to work closely with engineers on complex system and data problems.
• Strong customer instincts and a willingness to learn detailed accounting workflows firsthand.
• High ownership. You should be comfortable setting direction and making decisions in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building accounting, ERP, fintech, or financial operations products.
• Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience with month-end close, reconciliation, transaction coding, or financial integrations.
• Experience building AI agents or AI-powered workflow products.
• Experience building products for controllers, accountants, or enterprise finance teams.
