Enterprise Systems is the backbone of GSK's internal operations in Digital & Tech, enabling GSK Global Functions teams to run seamlessly. This team designs and delivers cutting-edge digital platforms that power critical processes, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and scalability across the enterprise.
The Associate Director - Tech Product Owner (GLAMS) is accountable for maximizing the value of GSK's artwork and packaging digital product portfolio from strategy through operation. The role translates business strategy, process needs, and user outcomes into a clear product vision, roadmap, investment plan, and prioritized backlog, while leading discovery, delivery, release, adoption, and lifecycle performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the product vision, strategy, and outcome-based roadmap for the artwork and packaging portfolio, aligned to business priorities, enterprise technology direction, and product lifecycle needs.
Partner with Business Process Owners, leaders, and users to identify unmet needs, simplify processes, and translate evidence into product outcomes, epics, features, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria.
Own and continuously refine the product backlog, making transparent priority and release trade-offs based on value, urgency, cost, user impact, risk, compliance, capacity, technical debt, and dependencies.
Lead discovery, planning, and delivery with Business Analysts, Architects, Engineers, Testers, and partners; clarify decisions quickly, accept completed work against agreed outcomes, and maintain coherence between strategy and execution.
Use AI tooling to accelerate discovery, backlog refinement, and requirement drafting, and record where AI-assisted output has been reviewed before acceptance; coach the team in responsible use, including using AI as a coach to challenge assumptions and trade-offs.
Develop product investment proposals and manage the approved budget, forecasts, supplier costs, benefits, assumptions, and total cost of ownership, ensuring investment remains linked to measurable outcomes.
Define and review measures for adoption, process performance, user experience, stability, service effort, delivery flow, and benefit realization; use insights and feedback to adjust the roadmap and backlog.
Ensure solutions and changes are secure, integrated, scalable, validated, supportable, and compliant with architecture, cyber security, data protection, quality, GxP, change control, records, and service-readiness requirements.
Own product risks, dependencies, technical debt, obsolescence, operational continuity, and service performance, documenting decisions and escalating material trade-offs through the appropriate governance forums.
Lead capability-led vendor and solution evaluations, influence supplier roadmaps, and negotiate commercial decisions, and hold internal and external delivery partners accountable for product outcomes and service expectations.
Drive adoption and continuous improvement by embedding business change, training, onboarding, release communication, documentation, and support-model requirements, while identifying responsible opportunities for standardization, automation, data, and AI.
Coach and develop Senior Product Owners, Product Owners, and Product Analysts, providing regular feedback and development support to strengthen product judgment, ownership, and delivery capabilities.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering), or equivalent experience.
Typically 7+ years of experience across product management, product ownership, digital transformation, or technology delivery in regulated manufacturing, supply chain, quality, laboratory, or life-sciences environments.
Experience in artwork and packaging processes, workflows, and platforms.
Proven accountability for a product or capability from vision, roadmap, and investment case through backlog, release, adoption, service performance, and lifecycle decisions.
Hands-on experience translating complex process and user needs into outcomes, epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release priorities.
Experience leading discovery and iterative delivery in agile or hybrid environments and making timely scope, priority, and acceptance decisions with cross-functional teams.
Exposure to AI tooling used for discovery, refinement, or drafting.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize using business value, user impact, cost, urgency, risk, compliance, operational continuity, capacity, and technical dependencies.
Experience defining product metrics and using adoption, process, user, service, reliability, and delivery data to improve performance and evidence benefit realization.
Experience developing business cases, managing budgets and forecasts, assessing total cost of ownership, and supporting funding and commercial decisions.
Strong understanding of architecture, integration, cyber security, data protection, GxP validation, quality, change control, service readiness, and operational resilience.
Experience evaluating solutions, managing strategic suppliers and system integrators, and holding partners accountable for delivery, service, and lifecycle outcomes.
Evidence of influencing senior stakeholders, resolving competing priorities, and leading global teams through product, process, and organizational change.
