Job Summary**
LPL Financial is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure, enabling efficient data flow and accessibility for critical business operations and analytics.
Job Responsibilities**
* Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into system of record(SOR)
* Build and maintain data pipelines using a variety of technologies (e.g., Python, SQL, cloud-native services like AWS Glue, Step Functions,Lamda,Kafka etc).
* Collaborate with software enginners, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
* Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data.
* Optimize database performance and ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data availability and integrity.
* Participate in the design and architecture of data platforms, including data warehousing, data lake, and streaming solutions.
* Document data models, data flows, and technical specifications.
* Stay up-to-date with emerging data engineering technologies and best practices.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
* 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or a similar role.
* Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, RDS).
* Strong working Experience with AWS ecosystems and its data-related services.
* Proficiency in a programming language commonly used for data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
* Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse).
* Familiarity with data lake concepts and technologies (e.g., S3, iceberg).
* Understanding of data modeling principles and best practices.
* Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
* Experience working with AI tools including co-pilot, claude code is highly preferred.
* Financial services industry experience is a plus.
