Why Join Us

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Accounting to lead and oversee global accounting operations across India and the United States. This role will be instrumental in ensuring financial integrity, strengthening global accounting governance, and building scalable processes that support the company’s continued growth across geographies.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in US GAAP, technical accounting standards, including ASC 606, and extensive experience managing multi-entity accounting operations within US-based SaaS or software businesses. Combining strategic financial oversight with strong hands-on execution, this individual will drive end-to-end financial close, reporting, compliance, audit readiness, and process optimization across both regions. The role requires a strong understanding of the accounting and regulatory requirements in India and the US, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with global stakeholders, external advisors, and executive leadership to establish consistent accounting practices, enhance operational efficiency, and support informed business decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead Global Accounting Operations: Oversee accounting operations across India and the US, ensuring accurate financial records, consistent practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Own Financial Close and Reporting: Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger management, consolidation, and financial statement preparation.
  • Provide Technical Accounting Expertise: Apply US GAAP, including ASC 606, to complex accounting transactions and ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Strengthen Financial Governance: Maintain robust internal controls, accounting policies, and audit readiness across global entities.
  • Manage Audits and Compliance: Lead Big 4 audits and coordinate statutory filings, tax compliance, and external accounting partners across India and the US.
  • Partner with Business Leaders: Collaborate with the CFO, FP&A, Legal, and Operations to support financial decisions and SaaS revenue reporting, including ARR, MRR, and deferred revenue.
  • Optimize Accounting Systems and Processes Manage accounting platforms such as NetSuite, Ramp, and SAP Concur, driving automation, efficiency, and scalable global processes.

What You'll Bring To The Role

  • Experience: 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5–7 years within US-based SaaS or software businesses.
  • Hands-On Execution: A proven track record of personally owning and executing end-to-end accounting operations, including journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, financial reporting, and audit preparation.
  • US GAAP Expertise: Deep knowledge of US GAAP, technical accounting, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and financial statement preparation.
  • Multi-Entity Accounting: Demonstrated experience managing accounting and financial close processes across US and India entities, including intercompany accounting and consolidation.
  • Audit and Compliance: Strong experience working directly with Big 4 auditors, external accounting firms, tax advisors, and statutory auditors.
  • SaaS Business Acumen: Understanding of SaaS revenue models, subscription accounting, deferred revenue, ARR, MRR, churn, CAC, and LTV.
  • Accounting Systems: Hands-on experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP platforms, along with expense management tools such as Ramp and SAP Concur.
  • Professional Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or an equivalent recognized accounting qualification preferred.
  • Individual Contributor Mindset: Comfortable operating independently in a senior-level IC role, with direct responsibility for delivering accounting outcomes rather than primarily managing a team.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills, sound accounting judgment, and the ability to independently investigate discrepancies, resolve complex accounting issues, and establish practical solutions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior leadership, global stakeholders, auditors, and external partners.
  • Process and Automation Orientation: Demonstrated ability to streamline accounting workflows, improve controls, and implement scalable processes in a fast-growing technology business.
