Job description
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka Department: IT
We are seeking a senior, hands-on SS&C Geneva Platform Lead to serve as the internal functional owner for Geneva upgrades and annual reconversions.
This role combines deep Geneva platform expertise with fund accounting, investment operations, and business analysis. You will lead the planning, execution, reconciliation, testing, and business sign-off activities required to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and operational usability of books and records throughout platform upgrades and reconversions.
Principal Responsibilities
Lead annual Geneva reconversions, including readiness assessments, planning, execution oversight, validation, and business sign-off.
Own and maintain the reconversion runbook, including controls, timelines, dependencies, entry and exit criteria, and escalation procedures.
Validate balance sheets, positions, tax lots, cost basis, P&L, accruals, capital activity, and accounting records before and after reconversion.
Prepare, review, and coordinate accounting adjustments and reconciliations across Geneva, the general ledger, data warehouses, reports, and source systems.
Investigate reconciliation breaks, coordinate resolution, and maintain clear audit evidence of findings and outcomes.
Lead the functional workstream for Geneva version upgrades and patch releases, including impact assessments, test planning, business validation, and post-production stabilization.
Assess the impact of Geneva changes on accounting workflows, reporting, interfaces, controls, and downstream processes; define clear business acceptance criteria.
Coordinate with Technology, SS&C, and other vendors on environments, integrations, data dependencies, deployments, cutover activities, and issue remediation.
Design and execute business-user acceptance testing, including regression, exception, interface, reporting, and end-to-end operational testing.
Coordinate business sign-off and document test results, defects, decisions, known limitations, and remediation plans.
Serve as the internal Geneva functional subject-matter expert, translating business requirements into functional specifications, test cases, workflow documentation, and controls.
Maintain key process and platform documentation; provide guidance to Operations, Fund Accounting, Finance, and Technology stakeholders.
Lead cross-functional working sessions, communicate risks and status clearly, and drive decisions through to resolution.
Identify and implement opportunities to automate and improve upgrade and reconversion processes.
Skills and Experience
Significant hands-on experience with SS&C Geneva, including its accounting model, transactions, positions, tax lots, corporate actions, accruals, P&L, and reporting.
Experience leading or materially supporting a Geneva implementation, upgrade, reconversion, migration, or comparable platform transformation.
Strong fund-accounting and investment-operations knowledge, with the ability to investigate and resolve accounting and reconciliation differences.
Experience preparing, reviewing, or coordinating accounting adjustments while maintaining books-and-records integrity.
Strong business-analysis skills, including requirements gathering, process mapping, functional specifications, test design, defect management, and stakeholder communication.
Ability to analyze complex data issues, identify root causes, and distinguish among system defects, data issues, operational breaks, and accounting-process gaps.
Demonstrated experience executing business-user acceptance testing and managing critical deliverables under tight timelines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Technical Skills
Knowledge of RSL, Python, and SQL for reporting, analysis, and automation.
