Oracle OCI Lead Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Oracle OCI Lead Engineer based in India.

As an Oracle OCI Lead Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering robust, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions for enterprise clients. You will work directly with customers to understand their technical needs and translate them into effective Oracle Cloud Infrastructure implementations. The role combines hands-on engineering, cloud architecture, troubleshooting, and client-facing consulting. You will contribute to infrastructure optimization, security, performance, and business continuity across diverse environments. Working in a remote-first setting, you will collaborate closely with client stakeholders and technical teams throughout the delivery lifecycle. Accountabilities:

• Implement, configure, and maintain Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) compute, storage, networking, and database services to meet client requirements for availability, security, and disaster recovery.

• Engage directly with client stakeholders to gather infrastructure requirements, assess existing environments, and translate business and technical needs into OCI configurations and implementation plans.

• Deliver consulting engagements end to end, including infrastructure implementation, configuration validation, testing, technical documentation, and operational handover.

• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure incidents, investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and communicate progress, risks, and resolutions clearly to clients.

• Monitor cloud resource utilization and spending, identify cost optimization opportunities, and implement agreed improvements to enhance efficiency.

• Monitor infrastructure health, optimize performance, support capacity planning, and participate in backup and disaster recovery testing.

• Implement and maintain security controls, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and other measures aligned with client compliance requirements.

• Maintain technical designs, configuration records, operational runbooks, and infrastructure usage and performance reports.

• Provide knowledge transfer and technical guidance to client operations teams to ensure effective ongoing infrastructure management.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated hands-on experience as a cloud infrastructure engineer, systems engineer, or in a similar technical role, with practical experience implementing and supporting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure environments.

• Strong technical expertise across OCI compute, storage, networking, database services, and cloud monitoring and management tools.

• Solid understanding of cloud security principles, including IAM, encryption, and compliance requirements.

• Knowledge of high availability, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices within cloud environments.

• Experience delivering client-facing consulting engagements, from requirements gathering and solution implementation through testing, validation, and operational handover.

• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues and implement effective solutions.

• Excellent technical documentation skills, including the ability to create infrastructure designs, configuration records, operational procedures, and reports.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple client engagements while maintaining quality and delivery standards.

• A proactive, client-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to technical excellence, continuous improvement, and service delivery.
