Job Summary
Wissen Technology is hiring a Python AI Engineer for a team building a finance application in global financial services. You will use Python to build LLM-powered applications and AI agents that help finance and operations users find, understand, and act on their data. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Core Python, data handling, and AI/LLM engineering and hands-on experience in developing AI-powered applications using Agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph, along with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Key Responsibilities
Build Python services that process, clean, and transform structured and unstructured finance data so AI applications can use it.
Design and build RAG pipelines end to end. This covers document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector search, retrieval tuning, and grounded answers with source references.
Build AI agents and multi-step workflows with LangChain and LangGraph, including tool calling, state handling, and human review steps where needed.
Connect LLMs to internal APIs, databases, and lakehouse data so users can query and work with data in plain language.
Test and evaluate LLM outputs for accuracy, relevance, and hallucinations, and use the results to improve quality.
Monitor and improve the performance, latency, cost, and reliability of AI applications in production.
Follow the security, access-control, and data-privacy practices required in a regulated financial environment.
Work with data engineers, product owners, and client stakeholders to turn business needs into working solutions, and document designs and decisions.
Essential Requirements
5 8 years of software development experience, with strong recent hands-on Python work.
Core Python: data structures, OOP, error handling, and clean, testable code. Data handling with pandas or similar libraries.
LLM engineering: hands-on development of LLM applications, including prompt design, LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models), and structured outputs.
Agentic AI: has built agents or workflows with LangChain and/or LangGraph in real projects, beyond tutorials.
RAG: has built at least one RAG pipeline end to end, including embeddings and a vector store such as FAISS, Chroma, pgvector, or Pinecone.
APIs: building and integrating REST APIs, for example with FastAPI or Flask.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational data.
Standard engineering practices: Git, unit testing, and code reviews.
Able to explain technical trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Databricks (Mosaic AI, Vector Search, Unity Catalog, MLflow) or Spark/PySpark.
Financial services experience, especially with finance or accounting data such as general ledger, reconciliations, and reporting.
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud or Oracle Fusion data.
Natural-language-to-SQL or querying structured data with LLMs.
LLM evaluation and observability tools such as LangSmith, RAGAS, DeepEval, or MLflow.
Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience applying guardrails, PII handling, and responsible AI practices.
