Retail Health Underwriting - AM/Manager

At ACKO, we are seeking an accomplished Manager - Health Underwriting to lead a dynamic team of 10-12 doctors. This role is pivotal in guiding the team through comprehensive underwriting judgments, ensuring strict adherence to processes, and timely task completion. Your expertise will be critical in resolving complex customer queries and making sound medical underwriting decisions.

The role demands a deep understanding of medical underwriting, including independent interpretation of ECG and TMT. This position is integral to maintaining high-quality decision-making and supporting the continuous development of our underwriting capabilities.

• Proficiency in independent ECG and TMT interpretation, essential for accurate risk assessments

• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills to handle complex underwriting cases

• Minimum 5 years of dedicated health insurance underwriting experience, ensuring depth of expertise

• At least 2 years of experience leading an underwriting team, demonstrating leadership capabilities

• Proficiency in Hindi and English for effective communication with diverse stakeholders

• Analytical mindset with ease in using underwriting systems and reporting tools for efficiency

• Experience managing complex referrals and resolving intricate customer queries

• Review complex medical cases and high-risk referrals, ensuring precise risk decisions

• Interpret ECG, TMT, and laboratory reports independently to inform accurate underwriting decisions

• Manage and mentor a team of doctors to maintain high-quality decisions and productivity

• Allocate work effectively, ensuring all tasks are completed within service level agreements

• Conduct quality audits to identify errors and implement corrective measures for improvement

• Guide the team in resolving customer queries, enhancing customer satisfaction and clarity

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines and compliance and process enhancements

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer experience
