Job description
Engineering | Bengaluru, India | Remote, Remote | Full-Time
Atlassian's software helps teams everywhere plan, track, and collaborate on their work, and our customers trust us to keep that work secure and reliable at massive scale. The Audit Platform and Guard is the security and data-governance layer for Atlassian. It gives admins the centralized controls and visibility they need to maintain and demonstrate a secure, compliant posture. By helping security and IT teams protect sensitive data, uphold governance standards, and manage risk at scale, Guard enables leaders to safely accelerate AI adoption and new ways of working
We're looking for a Mobile Engineer to help bring these security and audit experiences to mobile, building native Android apps that let customers monitor activity, investigate issues, and stay in control wherever they are.
Build and ship native Android features that make audit and security data useful on mobile
Own capabilities end to end, from design through testing, rollout, and production support
Partner with backend, platform, and product teams to deliver cohesive experiences across Atlassian products
Handle sensitive customer data responsibly, with security and privacy built in from the start
Improve app performance, reliability, and overall mobile developer experience
Comfortable stepping beyond Android to contribute to Atlassian's frontend web stack when the work calls for it
7+ years of experience building native Android applications using Kotlin; experience with iOS is a plus but not required.
Strong understanding of Android fundamentals, app architecture, performance, scalability, and platform best practices
Experience with Android Studio, Gradle, Git, and other development tools.
Skilled in unit and UI testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso).
Proficient with CI/CD for Android and automated testing pipelines.
A security and privacy-conscious mindset when handling sensitive data
Passion for solving complex problems and delivering performant, user-centric solutions.
Experience working with mobile authentication (OIDC, OAuth, SAML)
Experienced with reactive programming (RxJava, RxAndroid)
Nice to have
Experience with modern Android libraries and components
Experience using analytics and data to drive architecture and UI decisions
Experience working in security, audit, or compliance domains
