Job description

About Northern Trust

As a global leader in innovative wealth management, asset servicing, asset management and banking services, Northern Trust (Nasdaq: NTRS) is proud to guide the world’s most successful individuals, families, corporations and institutions.

Since 1889, we have aligned our efforts with our three guiding Principles That Endure: Service, Expertise, and Integrity. Together, they reflect the three cornerstones of business conduct which we strive to instill in our employees, whom we call partners, and to provide to our clients and the communities we serve worldwide.

With more than 135 years of financial experience and over 24,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.

Role Summary:

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Digital Operations & Web Experience Analyst to help build, operate and continuously improve how digital content and experiences are delivered across our owned digital ecosystem.

This is not a traditional web-publishing role. The position combines digital operations, workflow and process optimization, governance, hands-on publishing, quality assurance, performance improvement and cross-functional enablement.

The initial and largest focus will be our global public web ecosystem, where the opportunity to improve operational consistency, scalability and performance is greatest. The broader mandate extends across the owned digital channels and platforms managed by Digital Marketing. You will help establish common workflows, standards and operating practices so content can be created, approved, published, distributed, measured and optimized consistently—regardless of platform or destination.

You will work as an integral member of a global Enterprise Digital organization, partnering with Marketing, Content, Digital Product, UX/UI, Technology, Analytics, SEO, Accessibility, Compliance and business teams.

Major Duties:

Digital workflow and process excellence

• Own and continuously improve workflows spanning intake, requirements, prioritization, production, approvals, publishing/distribution, QA, measurement and optimization.

• Map current-state processes and identify bottlenecks, unnecessary handoffs, duplication, control gaps and sources of rework.

• Create and maintain SOPs, workflow documentation, checklists, service expectations, decision criteria and escalation paths.

• Use operational data to improve cycle time, throughput, quality and predictability.

• Identify opportunities to simplify work through process redesign, automation and platform integration.

Owned digital publishing and delivery

Independently manage complex digital requests and releases from intake through post-launch validation.

• Author, maintain and publish content in Adobe Experience Manager or a comparable enterprise CMS.

• Support enterprise websites, landing pages, insights and thought-leadership experiences, product and solution content, localized experiences and other owned digital destinations.

• Manage content and asset requirements including metadata, taxonomy, tagging, approvals, localization and lifecycle.

• Promote approved templates, reusable components and structured-content practices that enable scale.

Standards, governance and risk reduction

Help define, document, operationalize and maintain digital publishing and delivery standards.

• Translate UX, design-system, accessibility, SEO, analytics, content, privacy, compliance and technology requirements into practical procedures.

• Establish and apply QA and release-readiness practices.

• Identify inconsistent practices, unnecessary customization and workarounds that create operational risk, technical debt or fragmented experiences.

• Coordinate exceptions with the appropriate Product, Technology, Design or control owner.

Quality and experience assurance

Perform and improve pre- and post-publication QA.

• Validate content accuracy, page structure, responsive behavior, links, imagery, documents, metadata, accessibility, SEO, analytics and experience requirements.

• Coordinate defect remediation and support regression testing and production validation.

• Analyze recurring defects to identify root causes and preventive improvements.

Performance and optimization

Partner with Analytics, SEO, UX and Digital Product teams to understand operational, site-health and experience performance.

• Translate insight into prioritized opportunities that improve discoverability, accessibility, usability, engagement and conversion where applicable.

• Support audits, testing and experimentation; validate whether changes deliver the intended result.

• Create a closed loop from publish to measure, learn, optimize and standardize.

Automation, integration and productivity

Identify repetitive tasks and workflow bottlenecks suitable for automation.

• Translate operational problems into requirements for Product, MarTech and Technology teams.

• Support integrations connecting work management, CMS, DAM, analytics and related platforms.

• Participate in implementation, testing, adoption and benefits measurement for workflow and platform enhancements.

• Evaluate responsible AI-enabled improvements where they solve a defined operational problem and preserve quality and controls.

Cross-functional partnership and enablement

Serve as an operational bridge between business requirements and digital execution.

• Coordinate dependencies across Marketing, Content, Product, UX/UI, Technology, Analytics, SEO, Accessibility and control teams.

• Explain standards, platform constraints and operating requirements in clear business terms.

• Support onboarding, training and change adoption for publishers, contributors and stakeholders.

• Surface systemic problems and improvement opportunities to Digital leadership.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in Digital Marketing, Marketing Technology, Information Systems, Business, Communications or a related discipline.

• 5+ years of relevant experience in digital operations, web operations, digital production, content operations, marketing operations or digital-experience delivery.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise websites, content-management platforms or complex digital ecosystems; Adobe Experience Manager strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated experience owning or improving end-to-end digital workflows.

• Experience developing or improving SOPs, governance practices, QA standards or operational controls.

• Experience coordinating complex work across business and technical stakeholders.

• Working knowledge of accessibility, SEO, analytics, UX, content lifecycle and web-performance fundamentals.

• Experience using operational or performance data to identify problems and improve outcomes.

• Strong prioritization, documentation, facilitation, problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a global, matrixed organization.

Preferred

• Adobe Experience Manager Sites and Assets; Adobe Workfront or a comparable work-management platform.

• Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics 4.

• Global, multilingual or multisite content operations; localization, translation or MSM experience.

• WCAG accessibility, technical/on-page SEO and Core Web Vitals knowledge.

• Workflow automation, systems integration, structured-content or content-supply-chain experience.

• Agile delivery, experimentation, personalization or conversion-optimization exposure.

• Financial services or another regulated enterprise environment.
