Description
Mandatory Responsibilities
People Management & Team Leadership
+ Lead and manage engineers, technicians, contractors, and/or lab support personnel.
+ Drive resource allocation across qualification and reliability activities.
+ Establish clear priorities and execution ownership.
+ Monitor team workload, utilization, and productivity.
+ Coach, mentor, and develop technical and operational capabilities within the team.
+ Conduct performance discussions, goal setting, and career development planning.
Lab Operations & Execution
+ Own day-to-day operation of Reliability & Qualification Labs.
+ Ensure uninterrupted execution of qualification, characterization, and reliability activities.
+ Drive lab utilization, scheduling, and execution prioritization across programs.
+ Monitor execution bottlenecks and proactively escalate risks impacting project milestones.
Qualification Planning & Tracking
+ Create and maintain qualification execution plans.
+ Ensure sample availability, test readiness, resource availability, and schedule adherence.
+ Coordinate qualification priorities across multiple programs and stakeholders.
+ Track qualification deliverables and closure.
Equipment & Infrastructure Management
+ Manage lab equipment availability, uptime, and utilization.
+ Own calibration planning and compliance for all reliability equipment.
+ Drive preventive maintenance and service schedules.
+ Ensure lab readiness for new qualification requirements.
Inventory & Asset Management
+ Manage consumables, sockets, fixtures, boards, adapters, and spare parts inventory.
+ Monitor inventory levels and prevent qualification delays due to shortages.
+ Maintain asset records and equipment tracking.
Automation & Test Infrastructure
+ Support automation execution and issue resolution.
+ Coordinate automation setup, deployment, validation, and maintenance.
+ Work with development teams to resolve infrastructure and automation blockers.
+ Ensure test automation readiness for qualification programs.
Lab IT & System Support
+ Coordinate resolution of lab network, system, server, storage, and software issues.
+ Drive closure of IT tickets impacting qualification execution.
+ Manage access permissions, licenses, and infrastructure dependencies.
+ Maintain operational continuity of data collection and reporting systems.
Resource Allocation & Capacity Management
+ Plan technician and engineer assignments.
+ Optimize resource utilization across projects.
+ Support capacity forecasting for upcoming qualification demand.
+ Identify staffing and infrastructure gaps.
Program Risk Management
+ Highlight risks that can impact qualification schedules.
+ Develop mitigation plans for equipment, resource, infrastructure, or execution constraints.
+ Provide regular execution health and readiness status to management.
+ Escalate critical blockers with recommended actions.
Lab Compliance & Audit Readiness
+ Ensure compliance with ISO/IATF, ESD, safety, and internal quality requirements.
+ Maintain calibration, maintenance, and execution records.
+ Support internal and external audits.
Process Standardization
+ Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Drive continuous improvement of lab workflows.
+ Implement best practices for execution consistency.
Metrics & Reporting
+ Publish lab KPIs such as:
+ Equipment utilization
+ Qualification throughput
+ On-time execution
+ Calibration compliance
+ Automation coverage
+ Resource loading
+ Provide management dashboards and status reports.
Training & Team Development
+ Train engineers and technicians on lab processes and equipment.
+ Develop operational knowledge continuity.
+ Act as technical focal point for lab operations.
Good-to-Have Responsibilities
Budget & Financial Planning
+ Support annual lab budget planning.
+ Track lab operational expenses.
+ Forecast capital equipment requirements.
+ Optimize spending through resource sharing and efficiency improvements.
Procurement & Vendor Management
+ Drive procurement of equipment, spares, consumables, and software licenses.
+ Coordinate with suppliers for maintenance, calibration, and repairs.
+ Support vendor qualification and service agreements.
