Senior Test Engineer – Manual Testing (Primary) with Automation Experience
Role Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer with strong expertise in Manual Testing and a good understanding of Test Automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring product quality through comprehensive functional, integration, regression, and user-focused testing while contributing to automation initiatives to improve efficiency and coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify test scenarios and test conditions.
Design, review, and execute detailed manual test cases.
Perform functional, integration, system, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using defect management tools.
Validate business workflows, edge cases, negative scenarios, and user experience aspects.
Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Scrum teams to clarify requirements and ensure quality deliverables.
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and requirement review sessions.
Support release validation, certification testing, and production verification activities.
Contribute to automation efforts by identifying automation candidates and maintaining automated test scripts.
Continuously improve test processes, test coverage, and quality metrics.
Required Skills
3+ years of experience in Software Testing with strong Manual Testing expertise.
Extensive experience in Functional, Regression, System, Integration, and UAT testing.
Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Defect Life Cycle.
Experience in preparing Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Scenarios, Test Data, and Test Summary Reports.
Hands-on experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira.
Good analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Automation Skills
Basic to intermediate experience in test automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
Ability to create, execute, and maintain automated regression test scripts.
Understanding of automation frameworks and CI/CD concepts.
Experience in API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools is desirable.
Preferred Skills
Experience in enterprise web applications and complex business workflows.
Exposure to database testing and SQL queries.
Experience with test management tools such as Zephyr or TestRail.
Exposure to AI-assisted testing tools and automation accelerators.
