Job description
Description Join our dynamic team to innovate and drive technology advancements, contributing to significant business growth and client success.
As a Technical Project Manager III in Commercial & Investment Bank, you will help lead complex technology projects and programs that drive business goals and create value for clients, employees, and stakeholders. Applying a broad knowledge of technical principles, practices, and theories is essential to developing innovative solutions, along with leveraging analytical reasoning and adaptability skills to navigate through ambiguity and change. Your strong communication abilities will enable you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring alignment on project objectives and governance. By optimizing resources and managing risks, you will contribute to the successful delivery of high-impact projects that shape the future of the firm.
Job responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, incorporating technical requirements, resource allocation, dependencies and timelines to ensure timely and successful delivery of technology projects and programs
Drive disciplined intake and prioritization, consistently questioning scope and rationale to ensure work has a clear business benefit and/or risk remediation outcome
Identify, track and mitigate project risks and issues, proactively addressing potential roadblocks and implementing risk management strategies to minimize impact on outcomes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application owners, software engineering, quality assurance, production support and Global Technology stakeholders, to define scope, objectives, success measures and deliverables aligned to business goals and risk posture
Leverage a technology/application development background to engage credibly with technical teams, challenge assumptions constructively and help translate delivery needs into actionable plans
Monitor progress, adjust plans and schedules as needed and provide regular status updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication throughout the project or program lifecycle
Influence decision-makers and delivery partners outside of your direct organization, using strong facilitation, structured problem-solving and clear escalation paths to unblock delivery and drive outcomes
Promote practical, reuse-first governance and reporting practices (e.g., standardized RAID, status, milestones), ensuring outputs are accurate, decision-useful and aligned to delivery standards
Proactively identify process and tooling improvements, leveraging existing capabilities (including enterprise-authorized AI where appropriate) to strengthen program governance (e.g., implementing lead and lag indicators), reduce delivery risk and ensure clear commitments and execution status visibility across stakeholders at varying levels
Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate project planning and risk synthesis (e.g., drafting plans, RAID, and status narratives), validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity requirements.
Promotes reuse-first, AI-assisted practices for project governance artifacts and reporting, ensuring human review and alignment to delivery standards.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical program management, leading complex technology projects and programs in a fast-paced environment
Technology / application development background enabling effective partnership with engineering teams and app owners
Demonstrated proficiency in applying analytical reasoning and problem-solving techniques to break down business and technical objectives into manageable tasks and activities
Proven experience leading through the project lifecycle management, including influencing decision makers and adapting plans as business needs evolve
Exceptional stakeholder management, with a track record of establishing productive working relationships and driving mutually beneficial outcomes across multiple teams and senior stakeholders
Strong communication and facilitation skills, including the ability to run forums (Working Groups / Operating Committees), frame trade-offs, drive decisions and escalate effectively with options and recommendations
Strong delivery judgment and a ‘constructive challenger’ mindset — comfortable advocating for the right work (benefit/risk remediation) and pushing back on unclear value
Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support technical program management workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
Ability to review and validate AI-assisted plans, risks, and recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following data handling expectations.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Familiarity with modern technologies
Experience delivering technology programs focused on modernisation, operational resilience, stability, controls uplift, remediation or risk reduction
