Job description

Location: Bengaluru, India; Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
Department: Engineering

Who We Are:

CrashPlan® provides cyber-ready data resilience and governance in a single platform for organizations whose ideas power their revenue. With its comprehensive backup and recovery capabilities for data stored on servers, on endpoint devices, and in SaaS applications, CrashPlan’s solutions are trusted by entrepreneurs, professionals, and businesses of all sizes worldwide. From ransomware recovery and breaches to migrations and legal holds, CrashPlan’s suite of products ensures the safety and compliance of your data without disruption.

What You Will Be Doing:

We’re looking for an experienced UI Developer to join our product team in Bangalore. In this role, you’ll build responsive, intuitive, and high-performing user interfaces for customers using CrashPlan’s data protection and backup solutions.

You’ll partner closely with Product Management, UX Design, Engineering, and QA to turn product requirements and design mockups into polished, reliable, and accessible web experiences. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable owning front-end development from technical design and implementation through testing, release, and ongoing improvement.

Day In The Life:

  • Own front-end development for key product areas and features, from technical design through production release.
  • Build and maintain responsive, cross-browser user interfaces using AngularJS, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Translate UX designs, wireframes, and prototypes into pixel-accurate, accessible, and reusable UI components.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs and back-end services using Node.js to support UI features and data integration.
  • Partner with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers to define requirements, estimate work, and deliver solutions that balance customer needs and technical considerations.
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability, and troubleshoot and resolve UI defects.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code, and participate in code reviews and Agile ceremonies.
  • Help establish and maintain consistent UI patterns, shared components, and front-end standards across the product.
  • Write unit and end-to-end tests and work with QA to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize and improve existing front-end code and user experiences, not just build new features.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of engineering practices, standards, and processes within the organization.

Who You Are:

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in front-end or UI development, ideally building B2B SaaS or other complex enterprise web applications.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AngularJS (1.x), including directives, services, components, routing, and two-way data binding.
  • Solid experience with Node.js for building APIs, services, and tooling, including working with Express or similar frameworks.
  • Expert knowledge of semantic HTML5, CSS3 (including Flexbox/Grid and responsive design), and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Experience integrating front-end applications with RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data flows.
  • Experience building cross-browser compatible, responsive, and accessible interfaces from design specifications such as Figma.
  • Proficiency with version control (Git), package managers (npm), and build tools such as Webpack, Gulp, or Grunt.
  • Experience with unit and end-to-end testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma, Jest, or Protractor.
  • Experience working in an Agile product development environment with Product Managers, designers, and QA.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain and advocate for technical decisions.
  • Comfortable working with globally distributed teams and collaborating across time zones.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of work with limited direction.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building enterprise software, cybersecurity, data protection, backup/recovery, IT administration, or other technically complex products.
  • Experience developing interfaces used by IT administrators or other technical users.
  • Experience with modern frameworks such as Angular (2+), React, or TypeScript, and with migrating AngularJS applications.
  • Experience working with or contributing to a design system or shared component library.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG) and front-end performance optimization.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Experience working within a global SaaS organization.

What Success Looks Like:

You’ll be successful in this role if you can quickly understand our customers and technology, deliver clean and maintainable front-end code, and work effectively across Product, UX, and Engineering to build experiences that are both highly usable and technically robust.
