We're looking for a hands-on On-Premises DevOps Lead to build and run a secure, highly automated DevOps platform in our data centres for mission-critical banking applications. You'll own the DevOps strategy, CI/CD, container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes), infrastructure automation, DevSecOps and production reliability. You'll also lead a team of DevOps, platform and automation engineers.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps strategy and platform: Define the DevOps reference architecture, standards and roadmap. Build highly available platforms across data centres with DR and business continuity. Create golden paths for application onboarding.
CI/CD: Build standard pipelines for Java/Spring Boot microservices using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Enterprise or Azure DevOps Server. Embed quality gates, SCA and vulnerability scanning. Automate promotion from dev to production, with blue-green, canary and rollback strategies.
Container platforms: Design and administer Red Hat OpenShift or upstream Kubernetes, covering registries, upgrades, capacity and scheduling. Standardise Helm deployments, configuration and secrets integration.
Infrastructure automation: Automate provisioning and configuration with Ansible, Terraform, Python and Shell. Work with infrastructure teams on Linux, virtualisation, storage, networking, load balancing, firewalls and certificates.
Security and compliance: Implement RBAC, PAM integration, secrets management, certificate rotation and least-privilege access. Integrate SAST, DAST, dependency and image scanning. Ensure end-to-end traceability, segregation of duties and audit-ready releases.
Observability and SRE: Build monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch or Splunk. Define SLOs, lead incident response and RCA, and test backup, DR and failover.
Continuous improvement: Eliminate manual work across build, deploy, provisioning and release. Improve deployment frequency, lead time and reliability.
Leadership: Mentor the team, set engineering and code review standards, lead design reviews and complex issue resolution, and report platform health and risks to leadership.
Must-Have Skills
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably Red Hat OpenShift, including upgrades, networking, ingress, storage and RBAC
Enterprise CI/CD with Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps Server or GitHub Enterprise, plus Maven/Gradle and Nexus/Artifactory
Ansible and/or Terraform, plus Python and Bash
Strong Linux administration, with working knowledge of virtualisation, networking, DNS, load balancing and storage
DevSecOps tooling, secrets and certificate management, and audit-ready release management
Observability and SRE practices: incident management, RCA and DR
Experience in a regulated environment, preferably banking or financial services, with awareness of RBI IT governance requirements
Good to Have
Java/Spring Boot, Kafka, API gateways and enterprise middleware
GitOps with Argo CD or OpenShift GitOps
Hybrid cloud exposure
Certifications: CKA, Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration, RHCSA/RHCE, Terraform Associate
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, IT or Engineering
5-8 years in DevOps, platform engineering or infrastructure automation in enterprise on-premises environments
Proven experience leading technical teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders
Success Measures
Success in this role means:
More releases going through standard pipelines
Fewer deployment failures and rollbacks
Shorter lead time to production
High availability of the toolchain and platforms
Lower MTTR
Fewer audit findings
Less configuration drift
Broad adoption of self-service pipelines and platform patterns
This page helps Indian job seekers prepare for Python interviews for backend, data engineering and data analyst roles, whether you are a fresher facing your first technical round or an experienced developer aiming for a senior position. It has 60 questions in three levels, easy, medium and hard, each with a concise sample answer and, where it helps, runnable Python 3.12 code. Topics include data structures, OOP, generators, decorators, the GIL and concurrency, type hints, testing and performance. Answer each question aloud in your own words first, then compare with the sample answer and run the code to check your understanding.
