Job description

Location: Pune, India
Department: Quality Assurance

Who is Litmus

Litmus is building the data foundation that powers industrial AI.

AI doesn’t work without real-world, contextualized data - Litmus makes that data usable. As AI adoption accelerates, most industrial environments still can’t access or use their operational data. We solve that gap.

We’re a growth-stage software company helping manufacturers access, structure, and use real-time data from machines, systems, and sensors at the edge. Our platform sits at the intersection of edge computing, AI, and industrial operations, enabling some of the world’s largest companies to run operations in real time, reduce downtime, and optimize production.

Backed by leading investors and trusted by global manufacturers and partners like Google, Microsoft, Dell, Oracle, and Mitsubishi, Litmus is powering the shift toward software-defined manufacturing.

Why join Litmus

Build the infrastructure that makes industrial AI possible

AI is moving beyond the cloud and into the physical world. At Litmus, you’ll build the infrastructure that enables real-time data to power AI and machine learning systems in production environments.

Work on problems where software meets the real world

Most AI systems fail without access to real-world data. You’ll build the layer that makes them viable in production. We solve challenges at the intersection of distributed systems, real-time data, and industrial constraints — where reliability, scale, and performance are non-negotiable.

Have real impact, fast

You’ll work on systems used by real customers in production, with direct impact on product and company trajectory. As a scaling company, we move quickly. You’ll have ownership, visibility, and the ability to shape both product and company as we scale.

Join a high-performance team

We’re building a team that holds a high bar and pushes each other to improve. You’ll work alongside experienced operators, engineers, and leaders who have done this before and are building again at scale. We hire people who take ownership, move quickly, and care about outcomes. No passengers.

Our culture

At Litmus, the team is collaborative, curious, and low ego. People are scrappy, take ownership, and look for ways to make an impact. We value empathy just as much as execution, whether that’s in how we build, how we communicate, or how we support each other.

We’re a growing company, so things move quickly and not everything is perfectly defined. If you enjoy figuring things out, working closely with others, and making steady progress, you’ll do well here.

About the role

We are hiring Senior QA Automation Engineers to test our data cataloging and real-time data platform products. You will build reliable automation with Playwright, turn business and technical requirements into test cases, and work with developers and product owners to improve product quality.

We have openings in two areas: application and API automation for our data cataloging product, and end-to-end data validation for our real-time data platform. Your experience will help us identify the best fit. Both openings are hands-on automation roles.

What you will do

· Develop and maintain automated UI tests with Playwright, using TypeScript or JavaScript, and build supporting test scripts and tools in Python where appropriate.

· Translate functional and non-functional requirements into clear test cases and automated coverage.

· Investigate test failures, work with developers to identify root causes, and improve test coverage and automation efficiency.

· Use Linux, Git and AI tools as part of your testing and automation work.

Depending on your product assignment, you will also:

· Automate API tests, build and troubleshoot Docker test environments, and set up and maintain CI pipelines for application testing.

· Test data flows from source systems to downstream destinations, checking completeness, correctness and consistency, and build scripts to generate test data and validate results at scale.

What you will bring

· QA experience with a strong focus on hands-on test automation.

· Practical experience building and maintaining automated tests with Playwright.

· Automation coding skills in TypeScript, JavaScript or Python, with strong TypeScript or JavaScript skills for the application automation opening.

· Confidence working in the Linux command line, using Git, and turning requirements into effective test cases.

· Hands-on experience using AI tools to generate test cases or automation scripts, then reviewing, correcting and validating the output.

· Experience creating and maintaining test cases and tracking test execution using Xray or a similar test management tool.

Additional requirements by opening

· Application and API automation: 5+ years of QA experience, including API test automation; hands-on Docker skills, including building images, running containers and debugging; and experience with CI/CD practices and setting up pipelines in Jenkins, Git-based tooling or similar.

· Real-time data testing: 3–6 years of QA experience, including hands-on validation of data from source to destination; working knowledge of SQL and JSON; and the ability to automate data checks using Python or TypeScript/JavaScript. Docker and Kubernetes can be learned on the job.

Nice to have

· Experience with data processing or cataloging products, industrial or IoT data, or MQTT, Kafka and other pub/sub messaging systems.

· Kubernetes, performance or load testing, and CI pipeline setup experience for the real-time data opening.
