Job Description
Insight Global is seeking two Senior React Developers to lead the front-end transformation of a client's legacy UHX engineering application suite.
These individuals will be responsible for translating complex legacy VB6 interfaces into a modern, maintainable, and user-friendly React-based experience. The current application suite contains numerous user-interface forms, custom controls, internal UserControls, and externally supplied OCX components that must be analyzed and replaced or redesigned.
The Senior React Developers will work closely with the Technical Lead / Solution Architect, .NET Developers, QA Automation Engineer, Heat Transfer SME, and client stakeholders to ensure the modernized user experience continues to support critical engineering workflows.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern React-based user interfaces to replace legacy screens and workflows.
• Translate existing VB6 forms and user interactions into reusable React components.
• Preserve critical user workflows while improving application maintainability and consistency.
• Partner with .NET Developers to integrate front-end components with APIs, application services, and business logic.
• Establish reusable component patterns that support consistent implementation across the UHX application suite.
• Identify legacy UI behaviours or controls that cannot be directly reproduced and recommend modern alternatives.
• Replace outdated or unsupported ActiveX and OCX user-interface controls.
• Collaborate with end users and the Heat Transfer SME to understand complex engineering workflows represented in the interface.
• Implement data-entry workflows, form validation, field dependencies, error states, navigation, and application feedback.
• Support the presentation of engineering calculations, data inputs, results, reports, and warnings.
• Debug functional and visual inconsistencies between legacy and modernized interfaces.
• Support automated UI and regression testing.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, demonstrations, and defect resolution.
• Document the front-end architecture, shared components, and reusable design patterns.
• Work independently within a distributed Agile delivery team.

Skills and Requirements
Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on front-end development experience.
• Strong production experience with React.
• Advanced JavaScript and/or TypeScript skills.
• Strong understanding of component-based application design.
• Experience developing complex forms, data-entry screens, dashboards, or workflow-intensive applications.
• Experience integrating React applications with .NET or REST APIs.
• Experience with front-end testing and debugging.
• Strong understanding of application state management.
• Experience with responsive design and modern accessibility practices.
• Strong Git and source-control practices.
• Experience operating within Agile software development teams.
• Ability to understand and modernize complex legacy user workflows.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with distributed technical teams.

• Minimize user disruption while retiring legacy UI dependencies.
