About the TeamThe Business Analytics & Data Management team is responsible for leveraging the organisation's extensive data ecosystem to drive business performance, operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.The team works across business, product, technology, operations, risk and finance functions to transform complex datasets into meaningful insights, identify business opportunities, highlight operational gaps and recommend actionable interventions.The team also drives data management practices, database optimisation, analytical infrastructure, data governance and the development of scalable reporting and analytics frameworks to support business growth.
About the RoleThis role is a combination of business strategy, advanced analytics, data management and execution.We are looking for an experienced analytics professional who will be responsible for building robust analytical frameworks, managing large and complex datasets, deriving meaningful business inferences, identifying trends and patterns, and translating data into actionable business strategies.The role will require strong expertise in SQL, database management, data warehousing, data modelling, analytical tools and business intelligence platforms, along with a sound understanding of the digital payments and fintech ecosystem.The individual will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive data-led decision-making, improve business KPIs, optimise processes and build scalable data capabilities.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Analytics & Strategic InsightsLead the business analytics function and drive data-backed decision-making across business and operational functions.Identify key business trends, patterns, anomalies and opportunities through large-scale data analysis.Develop analytical frameworks to measure business performance, identify improvement areas and evaluate the impact of business initiatives.Perform deep-dive analysis, statistical analysis, correlation studies and root-cause analysis to identify underlying business drivers.Translate complex analytical findings into actionable business recommendations for senior management.Develop forecasting models, trend projections and predictive analytics capabilities to support business planning and decision making.Define, monitor and review critical business KPIs, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
2. Payments & Fintech AnalyticsDrive analytics across the online payments ecosystem, covering transaction volumes, transaction success rates, payment failures, merchant performance, revenue, settlements, refunds and chargebacks.Develop merchant-level, transaction-level and business-segment-level performance analytics.Analyse transaction behaviour across payment instruments, banks, payment networks, merchants and customer segments.
3. Business Intelligence, Dashboards & ReportingLead the design and development of enterprise-level dashboards, MIS and management reporting frameworks.Build scalable and automated dashboards to provide real-time or periodic visibility into critical business and operational metrics.Establish standardised reporting frameworks and ensure consistency in KPI definitions across departments.Develop executive dashboards and analytical reports to facilitate business reviews and strategic discussions.Reduce manual reporting efforts through automation, efficient data pipelines and self-service analytics capabilities.Ensure dashboards provide not just descriptive information but also diagnostic and actionable insights.
Expectations / RequirementsStrong understanding of business analytics, statistical analysis, data interpretation and advanced analytical methodologies.Ability to independently identify business problems, formulate hypotheses, analyse data and derive meaningful inferences.Strong expertise in database management, data warehousing, data modelling and large-scale data processing.Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex queries, joins, window functions, query optimisation and performance tuning.Hands-on experience with data extraction, transformation, validation and integration across multiple data sources.Ability to design and implement scalable data management and reporting frameworks.Experience in building automated dashboards, MIS and business intelligence solutions for senior management.Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings through clear, structured and actionable business recommendations.Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across business and technology teams.Superpowers / Skills That Will Help You Succeed in This Role
Experience & Domain Knowledge8–12 years of relevant experience in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence or Data Management, with relevant leadership experience.Prior experience in Fintech, Digital Payments, Banking, Financial Services or large-scale transaction-processing environments is strongly preferred.Experience managing and mentoring teams of Business Analysts and Data Analysts.Demonstrated experience in handling large-volume transactional datasets and developing enterprise-level analytical solutions.Technical SkillsAdvanced SQL and database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or similar relational databases.Hands-on experience with data warehouses and big data technologies such as Hive, Spark, BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift.Strong understanding of database design, data modelling, indexing, query optimisation and performance tuning.Working knowledge of ETL/ELT tools, data pipelines and workflow orchestration frameworks.Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, statistical modelling and automation.Expertise in business intelligence and visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker or Google Looker Studio.Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.Understanding of cloud-based data platforms and modern data architecture.Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, metadata management and data security practices.
