Senior Data Analyst

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join the Product Data & Analytics team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data management, data mining, and data analytics, with experience in building large-scale analytical capabilities.

The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining data engineering, advanced reporting, and data visualization solutions to support analytics and reporting needs across products, markets, and services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Obtaining data from multiple sources, collating, analyzing, and triangulating information to develop reliable fact bases and actionable insights
• Leveraging large-scale databases and analytical tools to manipulate data and synthesize insights
• Executing cross-functional projects using advanced modeling and analytical techniques to uncover insights and drive strategic business decisions
• Building, developing, and maintaining data models, reporting systems, dashboards, and performance metrics that support key business outcomes
• Providing insights, assessments, and recommendations through Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Applying data quality controls, validation, and cleansing processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data assets
• Communicating analytical findings and business impacts to stakeholders across leadership, technology, sales, marketing, and product teams
• Capturing and sharing intellectual capital, tools, methodologies, and best practices across projects to drive organizational learning
• Leading, mentoring, and guiding junior team members to support their growth and development
• Recruiting, training, developing, and supervising data engineering and analyst-level talent

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience in data management, data mining, data analytics, reporting, data product development, and quantitative analysis
• Expertise in building semantic models and self-service BI and analytics solutions
• Advanced SQL skills with experience optimizing queries for large-scale and big data environments
• Proficiency with BI and visualization platforms including Tableau, Power BI, QlikView
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Cloudera Hadoop, SQL Server, and big data technology stacks
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
• Programming experience with Python, PySpark, Hive, and R
• Ability to present data findings in a clear, insight-driven format and develop executive-ready presentations and support decks
• Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills
• Deep technical aptitude with a strong ability to learn and adopt new technologies
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data quality
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills
• Collaborative team player who can work effectively across functions and levels of management
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, navigate ambiguity, and perform in fast-paced team environments
• Financial services or payments industry experience is a plus
