Job description

Location: India

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Talent Acquisition based in India.

As one of the organization's most strategic talent markets, India plays a critical role in supporting global growth and building future-ready teams. The Director, Talent Acquisition will lead the regional recruiting organization and shape a forward-thinking talent acquisition strategy. This role combines strategic leadership, operational excellence, and technological innovation to transform recruitment into a business-driving function. You will lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for technical and non-technical hiring across multiple functions. Working closely with senior executives and global HR stakeholders, you will influence workforce planning and talent decisions through market intelligence and data-driven insights. This is an opportunity to modernize recruiting practices, leverage AI and automation, and build a scalable talent acquisition organization.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will lead the overall talent acquisition strategy for India, ensuring recruitment operations align with business priorities and long-term workforce objectives. You will:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy supporting business growth across India.

    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of recruiters responsible for technical and non-technical hiring.

    • Transform the recruitment organization from a transactional function into a strategic talent advisory partner.

    • Collaborate with executives, business leaders, People Business Partners, and HR teams to translate workforce priorities into effective hiring strategies.

    • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, providing market insights, challenging assumptions, and recommending alternative talent solutions.

    • Develop flexible recruitment models that can quickly adapt to changing hiring demands while maintaining candidate quality.

    • Leverage AI, automation, recruitment technology, analytics, and data to optimize hiring processes and improve stakeholder experiences.

    • Simplify recruitment operations, reduce administrative tasks, and enable recruiters to focus on strategic activities and talent engagement.

    • Improve time-to-hire, quality-of-hire, and overall candidate and hiring-manager satisfaction.

    • Provide market intelligence on talent availability, compensation trends, competitive dynamics, location strategies, and emerging talent pools across India.

    • Lead and personally support executive and senior-level recruitment searches, including talent mapping, outreach, candidate assessment, and stakeholder management.

    • Establish recruitment metrics, reporting frameworks, and operating rhythms to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.

    • Strengthen collaboration across HR functions, connecting recruitment with workforce planning, onboarding, internal mobility, and talent management.

    • Explore innovative recruitment technologies, partnerships, sourcing strategies, and talent acquisition channels.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous development within the recruitment team.

    • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced talent acquisition leader with a strong understanding of the Indian recruitment landscape and the ability to connect talent strategies with broader business objectives. You should bring:

      • 8+ years of Talent Acquisition leadership experience in India, ideally within a large global technology company or multinational organization.

      • Proven experience managing, developing, and scaling high-performing recruitment teams across technical and non-technical functions.

      • A strategic mindset and the ability to demonstrate how talent acquisition can influence workforce planning and business decisions beyond filling vacancies.

      • Strong knowledge of India's technology and professional talent markets, including major recruitment hubs.

      • Experience designing scalable recruitment strategies and operating models to support periods of significant hiring demand.

      • Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and challenge decisions constructively.

      • A collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach to complex recruitment challenges.

      • Strong technical aptitude and genuine interest in AI, automation, recruitment technologies, and data-driven talent management.

      • Experience using recruitment analytics and external market intelligence to improve hiring outcomes and influence business decisions.

      • Experience leading or personally conducting executive-level recruitment searches within India.

      • Comprehensive understanding of recruitment operations, processes, systems, and candidate experience.

      • Demonstrated success in leading organizational change and transforming recruitment teams, processes, or operating models.

      • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across regional and global teams.

      • Benefits:

        • Opportunity to lead talent acquisition strategy in one of the organization's largest and fastest-growing talent markets.

        • Strategic leadership exposure and close collaboration with senior executives and global business leaders.

        • Opportunity to drive recruitment transformation through AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies.

        • Leadership responsibility for a talented team supporting diverse business functions.

        • Opportunity to influence workforce strategy and contribute to broader organizational development.

        • Collaborative, innovation-driven working environment.
