Job summary
Serve as a GeoSpatial Developer specializing in Java to design build and optimize spatially aware applications that run on cloud native platforms. Use AWS services Snowflake data warehousing and GenAI LLM integrations to deliver robust secure and scalable solutions. Collaborate across teams in a hybrid work model to provide high impact insights from complex geospatial data.
Responsibilities
+ Design and develop scalable geospatial applications using Java to process complex spatial datasets and deliver accurate location based insights for business users.
+ Implement efficient spatial data models and indexing strategies to optimize query performance and response times for high volume geospatial workloads.
+ Build and integrate AWS based services including compute storage and data pipelines to enable robust cloud native processing of geospatial and tabular data.
+ Create and maintain data ingestion and transformation workflows that move geospatial and related data into Snowflake for analytics and reporting use cases.
+ Develop reusable services and interfaces that connect core applications with GenAI and LLM platforms to enable intelligent querying summarization and recommendation on spatial datasets.
+ Collaborate with product owners architects and data engineers to translate geospatial business requirements into technical designs and implementation roadmaps.
+ Optimize application code queries and resource usage to improve throughput latency and cost efficiency while maintaining reliability and quality standards.
+ Implement secure access patterns masking and auditing for geospatial data on AWS and Snowflake to comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.
+ Create automated testing strategies for geospatial logic data pipelines and integration points to ensure predictable releases and reduced production defects.
+ Prepare clear technical documentation covering system architecture data flows API contracts and operational procedures to support maintainability and knowledge sharing.
+ Mentor and support team members by reviewing code sharing best practices and encouraging experimentation with new geospatial and GenAI capabilities.
+ Engage with stakeholders to present solution options demonstrate features and gather feedback that helps refine the geospatial product roadmap.
+ Monitor production systems dashboards and logs to detect performance issues or data quality anomalies and drive timely resolution activities.
Qualifications
+ Possess a strong background in Java development with extensive experience building backend services and geospatial features for enterprise applications.
+ Demonstrate hands on expertise using AWS services such as compute storage messaging and data processing components to deploy and run production workloads.
+ Exhibit solid experience with Snowflake including schema design data loading performance tuning and role based access configuration for analytics solutions.
+ Show practical exposure to integrating applications with GenAI or LLM platforms including prompt design response handling and governance considerations.
+ Apply knowledge of geospatial concepts coordinate systems and spatial indexing along with experience using common geospatial libraries or tools in Java ecosystems.
+ Utilize proficiency in SQL and data modeling to design efficient queries joins and aggregations across both spatial and non spatial datasets.
+ Communicate complex technical topics clearly to cross functional partners while working effectively in a hybrid work environment with distributed teams.
+ Display strong problem solving skills and the ability to investigate production issues perform root cause analysis and implement long term corrective actions.
+ Prefer experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices that automate build testing and deployment of Java and data components.
+ Value prior exposure to agile delivery environments where work is planned in iterations with regular refinement reviews and adaptation to stakeholder feedback.
